Nimble was the first pup/litter born for me and under my kennel name, Gemstone Border Collies.

He was born via c-section as a singleton and was never in a rush to do much, then suddenly, he was a burst of energy. Nimble is overly friendly but gentle when greeting kiddos, socially odd with dogs, but is easily the quietest and calmest in the house - and the most cuddliest one. I made a few attempts to train him on sheep over 3 years' time; however, he was far too much dog for me, a much more green handler at the time, to handle. He was fast and didn't want to particularly stop. I joked that when I 'retired' his career on sheep, that he'd probably be great at flyball.

At the end of February, as fate would have it, we'd end up visiting with a friend during one of their flyball practices, and that was that. I started training Nimble in flyball, and he was catching on very quickly. And by April, he was doing full runs. Then, in May, he ran his first single races in U-FLI. His 2 following tournaments were very successful and is now running solid in a lineup. While he didn't turn out to be what I had hoped for on sheep, but he sure turned into a fierce flyball dog.

Nimble was monorchid and neutered at 3.5 years of age.
